About the Study

If you suffer from chronic pain or aching in your knee, you may have osteoarthritis (OA) – a painful joint condition that can interfere with all aspects of daily life. When initial treatments fail to relieve the pain, many sufferers are faced with an unsettling future – increasing use of pain medications, invasive knee surgery, or continued suffering.

If you’re living with chronic knee pain and have not received lasting relief from medications, you may qualify for a new clinical research study. The study involves cellular therapy, in which a person’s own cells are used in a natural way to potentially repair tissue and relieve pain.

In this study, doctors are using an investigational, single use device which can take a small amount of fat tissue from your body and then isolate stromal cells from the fat tissue and concentrate them into a single therapeutic dose that is injected into the knee. This may help both repair damaged tissue and relieve pain. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, allowing you to return home the same day.

The study is currently being offered at select locations in the US. If you qualify and choose to join the study, you will receive study-related care at no cost, and will also be compensated for your time and travel to attend study visits.

More information on the study can be found on the clinicaltrials.gov page. More information about GID Bio can be found on their website.
